Careprost is an ophthalmic solution, which is used to lower the stress built within the eye and is called as intraocular pressure. It is used to treat glaucoma that is produced when fluid is formed in the eye.Its an active ingredient. The increase in intraocular pressure can injure the optic nerve fibres that might cause a gradual loss of sight, beginning with peripheral vision and finally to total blindness in that eye.

WORKING

Careprost is an eyedrop, 03%  of it contains bimatoprost, a synthetic analogue of the logically taking place prostamide, which is a prostaglandin-like substance that has different and specific actions in numerous tissues of the body, including pressure reducing activity. The pressure formed in the eye that is seen in glaucoma is known by a blockage in the draining system for the eye liquid called as aqueous humour, which is produced to continue normal eye pressure. As the tide of liquid into and out of the eye becomes stable again, the pressure in the eye is lowered and this decreases the danger of damage to the optic nerve and loss of sight, which can occur if glaucoma is left untreated.

PRECAUTIONS

Use the careprost medication exactly as recommended by your doctor. Follow all the commands on your prescription tag. Do not use this medicine in bigger or lesser amounts or for longer than suggested.  Shake the bottle well before using this careprost eyedrop. You must continue to use the Careprost eyedrop every day for as long as suggested by your doctor, which may be for quite a few months or years, as they will help in maintaining normal eye pressure, but will not cure glaucoma. If  at all you miss a dose of Careprost eye drops receive it as fast as you recall, except it is time to receive the next dose, then avoid the missed dose. Do not take dose for twice. Avoid touching the tip of the eye dropper it might get contaminated and can infect your eye, which can lead to serious vision complications. It is only approved for the use of  anyone elder than 16 years of age. Consult your doctor for once if you have an eye wound, plan to have surgery of your eye or if you grow an eye infection.

DOSAGE

Put one drop in the affected eye or eyes every day for once in the evening.

SIDE EFFECTS

The use of careprost eye-drop can cause numerous side-effects such as- red congested eyes, pain in or around your eye, itching or irritation of the eye,an increase in colouring of area around eye, change in vision, darkening of the iris, headache, faintness, increased sensitivity to light,discharge from your eye, etc. These changes happen slowly and you might not notice them for years or months. Colour changes can be lasting and mightarise only in the treated eye. This mightcause in cosmetic difference from one eye to the other eye.

STORAGE

Store it at room temperature or in a refrigerator , away from light, moisture and heat. in a refrigerator. Keep the container tightly closed when it is not in use. Keep it away from the reach of children and pets.
